This is a hard one to write. This month, we said goodbye to Brewster.
If you've followed the farm for any amount of time, you probably knew Brewster. Brewster was one of our award-winning alpacas, a true standout in our herd, and so many of you loved Brewster right along with us. Some animals just make a farm feel like home, and the barn feels a little quieter now.
More than an alpaca
Every animal on our farm has a personality and a place in our hearts, but every so often, one of them becomes something more. Brewster was one of those. People from near and far chose to support Brewster and follow along with life on the farm. To all of you who supported Brewster, visited, shared pictures or simply cheered from afar: thank you. You made Brewster's life even richer, and you made ours richer, too.
Grief is part of farm life
Caring for animals means loving them fully, knowing that one day we'll have to say goodbye. It never gets easier. Our crew cared for Brewster with so much love and attention, and they are grieving too. If you're missing Brewster, please know you're not alone. We feel it every day.
Brewster's Legacy
We wanted Brewster's story to keep going, and to keep doing good. That's why we created Brewster's Legacy. Support for Brewster's Legacy helps send local kids to farm camp here at Eagle Eye Farm, giving them the chance to spend time with animals, learn about farm life and make memories they'll carry with them.
I can't think of a better way to honor Brewster, who brought joy to so many people. Now that joy keeps going, one camper at a time.
