Summer in the Twin Cities is full of great things to do, but sometimes you want something a little different. Something the kids will talk about for weeks, that gets everyone outside and off their screens, and that doesn't require a long road trip. Can I make a suggestion? Come spend a day with the animals.

Closer than you think

Eagle Eye Farm is in River Falls, Wisconsin, about 35 to 40 minutes from Minneapolis and St. Paul. That's just enough time for a car snack and a couple of good songs. Before you know it, you'll trade city streets for green pastures and a whole lot of curious faces.

Our address: N7802 County Road F, River Falls, WI

Who you'll meet

We're home to more than 130 animals across 14 species. That's a lot of new friends in one day, including:

  • Alpacas: Our big, fluffy herd, plus Viper, our one Suri alpaca.
  • Taz the llama: The tallest member of the camelid crew.
  • Kangaroos and porcupines: Yes, really. In Wisconsin.
  • Goats and Valais Blacknose sheep: Curious, silly and very photogenic.
  • Mini donkeys, Kune Kune pigs and mini Highland cattle: Small, sweet and full of personality.
  • English Angora bunnies, chickens and peacocks: Fluff, feathers and a whole lot of color.
  • An armadillo: Small, armored and totally adorable.

Great for all kinds of groups

A farm day works for just about everyone. Families with little ones, grandparents and grandkids, friends looking for a fun outing and couples looking for something new. Eagle Eye Farm is woman-owned and family-friendly, and we love seeing people of all ages light up when an animal comes over to say hi.

Rain, shine or snow

Minnesota and Wisconsin weather can be unpredictable, but we're open rain, shine or snow. A little rain doesn't bother the animals, and it doesn't have to stop your plans either. Just dress for the weather.

Tips for a great day

  • Wear closed-toe shoes: It's a working farm, and comfy shoes you don't mind getting dusty are best.
  • Leave pets at home: Our animals feel safest without visiting dogs.
  • No outside food: This keeps our animals healthy and safe.
  • Feed with a flat hand: When feeding is allowed, keep your hand flat so fingers stay safe.
  • Don't feed the pigs or cows: They're on special diets.
  • Bring your camera: Trust me, you'll want it.

Award-winning alpacas

While you're here, take a good look at our alpacas. Eagle Eye Farm was named the #1 small alpaca farm in the country in 2022 and the #1 medium alpaca farm in 2023 by the Alpaca Owners Association. We're pretty proud of them.
